NBRS (pronounced “neighbours”) builds family-sized rental homes in Toronto. The idea is simple: give families an option to stay in the city they love.
That means homes with room to grow, in the neighbourhoods that make Toronto feel like Toronto.
A note from Anthony
“I thought about NBRS for almost a decade. I spent those years in different development shops, learning how to be a good developer. But I kept coming back to a feeling to do something more.
When I quit my job in 2023, I was burnt out and looking for a way to have an impact. I travelled and explored different ideas. Along the way, I fell in love with the idea of helping build the next chapter of Toronto’s neighbourhoods. That became NBRS.

We started with a question: could we build larger homes at rents families could afford, without asking them to leave Toronto?
We explored repeatable building models and ways technology could help us use space better and build more efficiently. Then we worked through the materials and the process, looking closely at what each decision meant for design, sunlight, privacy, liveability and cost.
FAMILY 1 and NEIGHBOUR 1 are where that work takes shape.
